I’m back! And Welcome to my New Site!!

September 8, 2013

eatyour-veg-logo-angleWelcome, welcome, welcome!. Welcome to a quiet little corner of Herefordshire and Welcome to my brand spanking new Eat Your Veg site! Most of you (I think) know me from Chez Foti, my family foodie blog from the French Pyrenees. Well things have changed somewhat over the last few months and I’m now back living on home turf, in gorgeously rural, pretty and foodie Herefordshire. After a few turbulent weeks of moving, organising and settling in I’m so happy to be here and finally get back into my comfort zone of blogging again. I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed it!.

And I have a very exciting new site to show you! Eat Your Veg will focus a little more than before on healthier and budget-friendly recipes for Babies, Toddlers, Pre-schoolers, Big Kids and Family Food. They’ll be lots of ideas for bakes and makes with kids, quickie after-work wonder meals, Week-end slowies to take your time over and healthy recipes for snacks and treats. I’m also very much looking forward to exploring the wealth of healthier new ingredients that have hit our shelves and news lately, in the way of alternative sugars, fats, flours and wholegrains. And just as before they’ll be a considered focus on seasonality and sourcing locally, and with the wealth of wonderful produce literally on my doorstep this should be pretty exciting!.  As well as recipes I have a brand new Glossary page highlighting the health benefits of all my key ingredients, but please do note this is still very much a work in progress!.

Coming very soon will be an on-line children’s bake and kitchenware shop, The Veg Shop, selling you lots of the products I’ve tried and tested with my own kids, from safe toddler knives to biscuit cutters, aprons and feeding bowls. Fingers and toes crossed I should be up and running in time for christmas pressies!.

Family FoodieI’m also very excited to be co-hosting (with Vanesther of Bangers & Mash) a brand new monthly blogging challenge called Family Foodies, which shall launch in October and aim to share your family friendly recipes with a new and exciting theme to be picked each month. So please watch this space and do join in!.fsf-autumn

Obviously I’ll also be continuing with co-hosting the Four Seasons Food challenge with Anneli of Delicieux and I’m very much looking forward to hosting again in October after a couple of month’s off.

Just so you know I’ve taken most of my content from Chez Foti and moved it here, but it’s not yet searchable or categorised. I still have well over one hundred recipes and photo collections to jiggle around into the new recipe card format! So please do bear with me while things are a little out of sync and bare in parts, but I’m hoping to complete this onerous task over the next few weeks/months.

Please go forth and have a little explore around the site, I’d love to know what you think! And I’ll love you more if you sign up for my Weekly Newsletter in the top right hand box, like Eat Your Veg on Facebook, follow me on Twitter (same account as before, but I’ve just changed my user name to Eat_Your_Veg), Instagram and Pinterest, I’m even finally getting to grips with Google Plus!

On a final note, I have one monumental thank you to make for my new site, to the uber-creative, uber-patient and uber-talented Antony Bridge of Malvern Web Designers. Did you think I did it myself? I wish! And I’m very much looking forward to working with Antony some more on my new on-line shop….

It’s so lovely to be back folks. Please do spread the word!

Louisa xx

Thanks Janie! Taken a while to get there, and still not quite there yet (at least another 100 recipes to jiggle into place!), but loving being back on the bloggie block. Looking forward to catching up on what everyone else’s been up to too….finally!

Welcome back Louisa! So glad you’re settling in to life in Herefordshire and am looking forward to trying lots of your tasty, healthy recipes. So many of your wonderful Chez Foti kids friendly meals have been scoffed very enthusiastically in our kitchen.

Thanks Andrea! I can’t tell you how good it feels to be back, not blogging for weeks on end was really really odd! I’ve three pages of recipe ideas for the new site and can’t wait to get cracking on them ALL. Lots of hearty, healthy family fodder.

Sadly I can’t take any credit whatsoever for the fruit & veg face! It was the very talented Antony Bridge who designed my site and held my hand every step of the way. Looking forward to getting stuck into blogging again!

Thanks Karen, so pleased to be back too!. Do you think you could manage six weeks without blogging? Bet you couldn’t, it’s such an addiction isn’t it? Really felt like there was a part of me missing.

Ahr thanks Katie, it’s taken a few months in the making but glad to finally have it live! Still lots of work to go getting all my past recipes in the new format, but slowly, slowly! And please do join in with Family Foodies, we’re launching it in October.
