Some very tasty Nakd Bars & my first ever Giveaway!

November 25, 2013

Nakd Bars CollageI was recently sent a couple of fabulous boxes of goodies ram-packed full of yummylicious deliciousness to try out from a new and inspiring company, Natural Balance Foods. Nakd Bars and Snacks are wholefood products that certainly pack a punch in the flavour stakes. Each and every bar or packet  are vegan, gluten, wheat and dairy free and made up of a yummy and minimally processed mix of raw fruits and nuts (mainly dates, cashews, raisins and various natural flavourings). And each handily makes up one of your 5-a-day. So they’re perfect for a handbag, workbag or lunchbox healthy nibble. And if you want to win yourselves a Celebration Box then please do enter my Rafflecopter at the bottom of this post!

Now I used to buy this sort of bar pretty often (Iiving in rural France for a few years put a bit of a stop to this habit!), and I can hand on heart say I’ve never sampled any even half as tasty as Nakd Snack Bars. I have no idea how they manage to pack so much flavour in there but you really have to try them to believe it! My particular favourite has to be hands down the Caffe Mocha, a richly decadent and fudgy cocoa and coffee bar. These could easily become obsessional with me!. In fact all the cocoa bars are LUSH, including the Cocoa Delight and Cocoa Orange which were also the unquestionable favourites of chocoholic Frannie too who went straight for them in the selection box.

nakdlogoJacques interestingly was more loopy for the Flavour Infused Raisins, in particular the Cherry and Tango Lime versions. He scoffed three packets in a row, declaring they were yummy at each and every raisin, though did repeatedly ask me if they were “bee flavoured”, in reference to the wee bee on the logo. He loves his bees. We were all least keen on the Cola flavour raisins, but then my kids have never drank coke and I detest the stuff.

I should also point out each of the fruity bars got the firm thumbs up too, I’d find it pretty hard to choose between the Apple Pie, Berry Cheeky, Strawberry, Banana or Apple Crunch or Berry Delight, though the kids both preferred the apple ones.

I hate to say it but I’m genuinely surprised at how tasty these wee bars are and it’s so nice to know they’re 100% natural, minimally processed and choc-a-bloc full of good stuff. About as healthy as a snack can get, yet they taste totally indulgent. I’ll certainly be buying them again for myself and for the kids, either to pop in their lunchboxes or for an on-the-go snack. Nakd products are stocked in pretty much all supermarkets now, so do look out for them and try them out for yourselves.

Natural Balance Foods kindly sent me an extra Celebration Box to send out to one of my lovely readers. And I’m reckoning whoever that is will be equally as delighted with their selection box as we were. To win the box please follow the instructions on the Rafflecopter widget below. Entry is by leaving a comment in my comments box and going back to the Rafflecopter and  pressing ‘Enter’ and/or liking my Eat Your Veg and Nakd’s Facebook pages and following us on Twitter. And bonus entries can be made by Tweeting about the Giveaway. Sounds a little complicated but it’s really not!.

Closing Date Monday 9th December 2013. Open to UK entrants only.

A great match isn’t it?! Though I wouldn’t have reviewed anything that wasn’t. The kids were really excited with their box of treats, have a few other goodies to review soon too! All good fun.
